3 Ways To Improve The Appearance Of Your Smile

Dentist Blog

Working to look your best may be high on your agenda. There are many things you can do to help you accomplish this. However, ensuring you have the best smile possible is a great place to start. Fortunately, when you rely on the expertise of a cosmetic dentist, you may be able to reach your dental goals.

1. Dental bonding

If you have a gap in between your teeth, this may affect the appearance of your smile. Taking the item to fix this can make a huge difference in how your smile appears. Dental bonding is a process that will work to fill in this gap and improve your teeth. Your dentist will use a resin material that will be placed to bridge this space.

2. Dental crowns

If you have teeth that are worn down or damaged by decay, you may want to opt for dental crowns. These can improve the overall health of your teeth and allow you to feel much more confident. Getting a crown can usually be done in two visits to your dentist. The first thing that will occur is any decay will be removed from your teeth.

Your dental provider will then shape your teeth for the crown and make impressions. These will be sent to a dental lab to make the crown, and then you'll have this put in place.

3. Teeth whitening

Scheduling time to get your teeth whitened is one of the best ways to help your smile look brighter. This is not an invasive process and can make a huge difference in your appearance. There are trays that will be molded to your teeth, and these will be filled with a highly concentrated amount of hydrogen peroxide. It's a good idea to ask your dentist if you can take these home with you for routine maintenance.

Using these trays as necessary will help reduce stains and can help your teeth remain whiter over the following months. If you enjoy coffee, tea, or a variety of other dark-colored liquids, you'll want to work diligently to maintain the whiteness of your teeth.

Taking care of your teeth is vital if you want these to stand the test of time. Making improvements can allow you to feel much more confident about how you look and feel. Working with your local dental services is the ideal way to find the best procedure to improve your smile.

Fluoride: Why I Drink Tap Water

When the bottled water craze began, I jumped on the bandwagon with everyone else who was drinking water from bottles instead of from the tap. I wasn't sure why bottled water was healthier, but I liked the taste. When I went for my next dental check-up, I had my first cavity in a while, so I had it filled and didn't think much of it. Well, I had two more during my next check-up after that, and I began trying to think of why my teeth were suddenly going bad. The only change in my habits was the switch to bottled water, so I made the switch back to tap water and my teeth began to improve. I created this blog to encourage others who have begun getting cavities suddenly to look into their changes in habits. They may find they made a change similar to mine.
